Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz spaghetti
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Boil the spaghetti in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the shrimp: In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using), and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the pan and set aside.
- Make the sauce: In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Stir in lemon juice and zest.
- Toss the pasta: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until evenly coated in the sauce. Stir in Parmesan cheese.
- Finish with shrimp: Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss with the pasta. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the garlic butter sauce while it’s simmering. You can also top with additional Parmesan cheese if desired. π·π§
